Born in 1932, Anita Plutte's earliest memories are of growing up in Germany during World War II. Frequent bomb threats ultimately resulted in the destruction of her childhood home. Despite the hopelessness around her, she still dreamed of a beautiful future. So when her boyfriend left to pursue his dream, she chose to escape and leave Germany illegally to begin a new life with him in America.
Her hopes were high, but they fell far short of her expectations. Life in the USA had moments of great joy. But it also had terrible pain and heartache. Those dark places ultimately would lead her to find true fulfillment, in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
This book is the story of her exciting journey, from the darkness of Nazi Germany, to the dream of happiness in the United States of America, to a life of joyful faith.
